Thanks

Thank You

It has been ten weeks and although the course may be ending, being an advocate for teaching about literacy to young students is something I will continue to do throughout my career.  Writing and gathering the resource material for my research paper was difficult, but I am proud of the work I have put into this course and that I have been able to share the experience with each of my classmates.  The insights I have gained from reading each of your discussions and blogs were instrumental with helping me to get through the challenges of this course.  I would like to give special thanks to each of you that took the time to post feedback to my blog and my discussions.  Working with each of you has been one of my greatest pleasures of my professional career.    Finally, I would like to say thank you to all my colleagues at my school for their encouragement and for always being there for me.  Their daily support gives me the strength to be the best I can be for my students and their families.  I hope that each of you continue to grow in your careers and carry on the advocacy efforts you have gained from this class.

Enlisting and Providing Support

Enlisting and Providing Support

As I have been working on getting organized and gathering all of my resources for my presentation, I must say I feel like I am missing something. I wonder if I put the right material to make my paper flow and I feel like my resources is not informative information I also want to share that I have found many magazines and resources at the local. When it came down to my feedback about things I will try to stay focus to help my colleagues in a way that they can relate to my questions as well.

My Advoacy

My FAVORITE QUOTE by Martin Luther King and Malcolm X

Focus on the hard times ahead with thoughts of those who came before you. Focus on the mission ahead with thoughts of your role as a leader in the community. Focus on the obligations of your family with thoughts of their needs first, personal needs last. Focus on the future of your people with thoughts of your course of actions to make their dreams come true by any means necessary. Yes you can become the ” Thinker" for Peace. Power. Respect

The one thing that inspire me about my advocacy plan is working with the professionals and parents to create new  strategies to Build  literacy Competencies in Childhood that will find ways to promote literacy skills to help prepare children in the early stages for school.  The things that excites me are finding strategies that would work for the child's needs and interacting with the teachers and children while analyzing my plan to engage in my in my advocacy plan.

The biggest challenges to me are figuring out ways to teach each child literacy skills by using materials and activities in the classroom that has a positive effect for children’s reading, writing, and activities skills. These materials should allow children to make choices and work independently or with others to complete a task and develop both creativity and skills.
